Our History

Richard Earl Anderson has always been a creative risk taker on fashion and accessories. Years as a corporate executive, Richard was forced to be innovative on how to secure neckties properly to his shirt. Safety pins were a creative short-term solution to his problem. Richard’s imagination led him to sketch the Button-Down Tie, which includes a series of buttons and slits that attach the necktie to any shirt with buttons.

Richard received a patent for his fashion forward technology, and this was the start of the men’s accessory brand.

The Founders

Duke and Earl means nobility and regality which signifies years of brotherhood, collaboration and creative synchrony. Duke D Quarshie and Richard Earl Anderson share a connection with creative fashion, innovation and flair, Hence, the unique name of Duke & Earl.
